Barcelona

This is the scene in Barcelona, Spain that I found on Google maps.
It is on the boardwalk on
Calle de Sante Maria and Calle de Prim. The Mediterranean is on this fellow's left. I imagine that Barcelona is colorful and modern and I approached the painting with that in mind.
The idea of using Google maps to do a virtual paint out is Billy Guffy's. To see other Barcelona scenes visit his blog here

Paintings from my virtual visit to Florence is here and Paris here
I am really enjoying being an armchair tourist and cant wait to see where we go in August!

Nicely done, Kathleen! Barcelona is indeed a modern city but with many of the old, old buildings still intact and still in use. I am doing this project too, but using some of my own photos. I decided to go with an image I took myself up on Montserrat, which is in the environs of Barcelona itself. I can't wait to finish it!

What a lovely piece Kathleen! I like the virtual paintout too...I never even knew Barcelona had palm trees. I'm learning as I paint too.
