ACEOs - Hot off the Easel

I'm trying some new techniques for applying the paint... here a combination of brushes and sponges - those sponges on a stick - worked great for blending sky colors -

These two are also from the same palette

All three ACEOs are listed on eBay here

Getting Ready

Now is the time of year that I have to prepare for the summer shows. Its nice to pull out old photo references while the cold winds blow and paint balmier days. This piece is 16 x 20 on hardboard. I listed it on eBay for a trial run, and of course its on WetCanvas in Open Critique.

Something Different

I've been playing with the idea of using a different vantage point and though a birds eye view would be interesting. I did try this earlier in an ACEO format and liked the results.

Today's piece is
much larger - 15 x 30" and this composition seemed to morf the idea into something more graphic than 'painterly'.

I'm not done with this concept yet. In fact we saw the movie "Up in the Air" yesterday and so many scenes are the aerial views of the land from a plane that I got excited all over again but this!

Its All About the Snow

Snow. Its all we're talking about. How much? How soon? How long? How deep? Snow on the mind and that's what I'm painting. This one is 4x6, matted and framed to 8x8. Its for sale at the Peninsula Art Academy. I'm working on a large 18x24 snowscene that is almost done.

In the meantime this is an ACEO that I will be listing on ebay to go with the snow scene already on auction here
