Madison Avenue

Once again Karin Jurick gave us a great photo ref for the Different Strokes
"one photograph painted by many" blog.
This is the corner of 39th and Madison in NYC. I painted it 8x10" with the goal of giving the viewer feeling of activity, action, traffic. The cabs are more fun to paint than you would imagine. Of course I had to try an aceo of them too:

Great entry to the DSFDF challenge. Lots of movement and action in both your taxi paintings!

GREAT job Kathleen! You went wide, and I went tall. I'm finding this a fun photo to paint too. I love your rendition and all the bright color in your piece.

Thanks, Kathleen, for the suggestion on my blog site to use a larger brush to accomplish a more loose look. Did you notice that Karin Jurick advocates the same thing on her comments with her Madison Avenue painting. I am picking up the best tips from all these wonderful blogs...thanks to all!
