Pebble Beach

I thought it was time for a break from winter weather so I wet to my file of reference photos and found this scene of the ocean at Pebble Beach. What struck me was the clarity of the atmosphere and the brillant color.
I painted it on gessoed hardboard - is 9x 12"

What strikes me about this one is the clarity and color of the painting itself. It is much more precise than your usual impressionistic works. Great job!

Thank you! Thats what I was going for. To this cold mid-west artist the colors of the ocean were incredible.

Hi Kathleen - what soothing, beautiful blues. This is lovely. You can almost hear the seagulls and feel the sand between your toes!!!
