Icicle Update

It was another cold and snowy night but the sun is shining now and as it melts the snow
on the roof the icicles are growing longer and thicker. No matter, we're snug inside watching the Ohio State/Michigan game.

And in the meantime I can paint warm weather scenes. This is from a photo I took down in the low country along the coast in Georgia. Its an ACEO, painted in acrylics.

An icicle hanging high
Is one of nature's true delights
Drying layer upon layer
Of frozen water turned to ice

The wonders of nature
can make your heart sing
like a simple little icicle
such a beautiful thing.

Beautiful painting, love the warm hue of the clouds; tend to blow away the chill of the icicles.

My gosh it looks chilly there. Love your low country colors, Kathleen! we haven't even had a freeze yet, but I suspect it is coming soon.
