Meet Daisy, a much beloved an Atlanta dog. When I first saw this photo I thought she was a large dog but no, shes small with a large personality.
Family members asked me if I could paint her portrait as a surprise gift for her owner Kathleen. (Great name - how cold I refuse?)
I painted her on 11x14 clayboard and added a gel medium in thick strokes afterwards for more texture. A thin glaze of ultramarine on top, varnish, a black wooden frame and she was on her way to Georgia where she was a big hit. How could you not love that face?

Oh how lovely she is! I wonder her breed mix? She looks mostly Schnauzer with that undershot bite of a bulldog! LOL Beautiful work, Kathleen!
