I love to paint seascapes. This one is 12 x 16" and its my second entry in the upcoming Hudson Society of Artists Juried Members show. I used a wide plein air gold frame.

This is one of my entries in the Mid Winter Members Show. I think all the cold snowy weather motivated me to paint something birght and colorful.

Negative space

I was working at the Hudson Society of Artists mid winter members show and was wowed by Kitty Waybright's entry. She generously explained her technique for her fabulous paintings. Kitty pours liquid acrylic paint and swirls t being careful to not let the colors get muddy. When its dry she 'finds' the patterns that there and paints the negative space a solid color. When the show opens I will try to get a photo of her work.
There were many fantastic entries into the show which opens Saturday night.
Of course I had to come home and try an aceo a la Kitty. The reds and yellows are paint that was poured and swirled. I decided that birds were there and painted the blues so there would show up.

Jodi

I was honored to be commissioned to paint a portrait of Jodi, a beloved family pet who passed away last year. The painting is to be a surprise present for her owner.
Jodi liked wearing her crown. and her missing tooth was her signature trait.
The portrait is on a 10 x 10 gallery wrapped canvas.

Lighthouse

Going for subtle... very muted colors in all those beachy blue and green tones.
Wish I was there.

Lavender Blue

Lavender is such a great color. I love it against this green. I just listed on ebay here
I think its a strong composition - I'll use it again and again with endless variations.

Abstract in Real Space

It's so fulfilling to see your work find a happy home!
This large abstract of mine was purchased by some good friends who took it home and framed it in a fantastic wood frame and fillet.

The work is on canvas, 22 x 28 inches. The piece hangs in their master bedroom and I'm thrilled that they love it.
