Day 28

The month is almost up...some days it's been hard to get a painting done. Other dats I've planned my day around it. Today I did a Whiskey Painting inspired by today's weather.

Day 26

Here again I used the rice paper coated board for this ACEO.  I like the bold background with this little bird.

Day 25

For this piece I prepared the substrate with a layer of orange rice paper. After sealing it with mat medium I painted the forest scene letting some orange show through.

The color is more intense in the digital photo but its still a stronge piece.  ACEO   2.5 x 3.5"

This is Blue Hen Falls in the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The painting is 4x6"

Day 16

I am going to be teaching painting to a high school French class so I thought this would be a great subject.   11x14  All the images I found of Monet's "The Cliff Walk at Pourville" online had different colorations... which was closest to his?

I don't know if this is or not but I like the brightness of it. I may copy more of his work!

Note-- See the beautiful work the class produced on Day 25.

Day 14

                                                      " A Good Day for a Walk"

I'm excited to be taking this to be part of the exhibit "Epiphany" at the Bath Church. It's 16x20" and was not painted all this morning!

Day 13

"Closing Time"
The MD Garage was a service station at the foot of Boston Mills Road. When the area was designated a National Park the Park Service took over the ownership of the building. They have allowed the artist group, The Crooked River Gang, to exhibit their art in the building.

The MD Garage has become a favorite spot for hikers and bikers on the Tow Path to visit. The artists hang a new show every month April through October. I'm proud to be part of The Crooked River Gang. We always feature art that depicts the Park and the surrounding area.

Day 11

I'm lucky that friends share their photos for me so I have lots of reference material. This barn was photographed by Roger during his travels through Tennessee.
I painted it 8x10 on stretched canvas.

I love the tree shadows that run diagonally across the piece. I think I may try this again in watercolor.
