San Franciso

The first challenge in August on the Different Strokes from Different Strokes website blog was a street scene from San Francisco. As soon as I saw the photo I loved the composition of it.
The backwards L formed by the pole and the street seemed to make a picture window for the scene below. I think it was very important to create the sense going downhill and then back up by using value shifts. All the criss-crossing wires were just icing on the cake.

My painting is approx 6 x 9 inches in acrylic.
