Spanish Moss Show

This year I have submitted six miniatures to the Alabama Spanish Moss Miniature Show in Mobile Alabama. I'm very excited to be part of this exhibit. This tiny watercolor is one of my entries, as is this aceo acrylic

Old Friend

This is one of my paintings that a dear collector purchased a while back. She wrote to me today to show me how she had "Grandpa Feeds the Chickens" framed.
I love what she did with it! I know Grandpa has found a good home.

What Else Happened in January...

After finishing the 30 paintings in 30 days I can look back and tell you about some of the other things that happened this month.
The wonderful Epiphany show at The Bath Church opened (in the middle of a heavy snow storm) and goes on all month.
Here is the invitation with the hours and information about the concert on the 23rd.

These are the two paintings I submitted to the show this year.

Day 30 A Painting a Day

"Three Boats"
3x5"

Reflections are so much fun to paint. And light values against dark so...effective. So this scene was my choice for day 30 of the 30  paintings in 30 days challenge. It was a fun project and the month went by very quickly.

Day 29 a Painting a Day

"Night Watch"
3x5"

Breaking out the new watercolor palette and paints. I nearly forgot how much I like this medium!
It may take some practice before I'm saving my whites and keeping my colors from getting muddy.
This is a Whiskey Painting. I used gin instead of water with the paint.
