"Grape Day"  today's painting is brought to you by the color purple - and there are so many shades. I wanted to concentrate on reflections and highlights. It is 5x7" 

Day 1

The first day of the 30 day challenge - an ACEO I call " Double Trouble" 

Maybe an odd choice for a sunny winter day but it's where the muse led me. 

An ACEO is always 2.5 x 3.5"

There's nothing like starting the New Year off with a challenge! No, I'm not talking about resolutions here. But a commitment to do something- in this case to paint a picture a day for 30 days. And in making this a public commitment I'm making it harder to back out.
So starting Janaury 1 I'm joining Leslie Saeta  and hundreds of other artists around the world in a painting challenge.

I'll post the paintings here. Now I'm off to get my supplies ready!

Table Top

My friend Mary Kay Haneline teaches art to children in her Hudson studio. She had the absolutely brilliant idea to invite some of her artsy friends to paint right on the table so the kids would have examples in front of them. I am lucky enough to be one of those friends!

                                    

And this was my contribution to the table. Mary Kay added the gold scroll work frame.

Memories of a Pilgrim Soul

I have a one woman show at The Howson Gallery  at Judson Park and it has been a wonderful experience. The opening reception was Friday night and there was music and wine and food and wonderful,people-

I hung landscapes from some of my favorite places.

 i also brought a selection of whiskey paintings and they were well received.

The show runs thru the end of November.
